Congratulations to all Wolves Cup Classic 2008 Tournament participants!

The 6th annual Wolves Cup Classic AAA hockey tournament has completed! 38 teams in 6 age divisions from Novice through Minor Bantam -- 646 players and their families in the City of Kawartha Lakes from Friday through Sunday! What a weekend! Everyone arrived safely through the snow to play excellent competitive minor hockey! A hearty thank-you to all our volunteers, coaches, parents, officials, arena workers, and players! The host Central Ontario Wolves Major Atoms won their division as did the Central Ontario Wolves Minor Bantams! In fact, the Central Ontario Wolves were represented in elimination games on Sunday in 5 of the 6 divisions. The Major Peewees lost in double overtime to the eventual tournament Peewee champion Oshawa Generals. The Minor Atoms lost in their semi-final match to the Waterloo Wolves. The Minor Peewees made it to the championship game but were defeated by the Huron Perth Lakers who survived the possibly the most exciting game of the tournament to get to the finals as the Lakers used double overtime and 3 simultaneous shooters in the sudden victory shoot out to defeat North York.

The Central Ontario Wolves congratulate the Novice Champion Peterborough Petes, Minor Atom and Minor Peewee Champions Huron Perth Lakers, and the Major Peewee Oshawa Generals.
